John Boy Farms is a fifth-generation family operation that has been farming in Manitoba since 1879. John and his wife Ainsley run the farm now with help from their family. They have grown many different crops over the years and today focus exclusively on garlic production.
Over the years, John has used his knowledge as an agronomist to select the best garlic varieties suited to Manitoba’s harsh climate and to develop better methods for producing garlic under Canada’s unique growing conditions. He has written a book called “The Master Guide to Growing Big Garlic”, to help other growers have better success growing their own garlic.
