Swallowtail Farmstead
Swallowtail Farmstead is a new small-scale ecological CSA, herb farm and market garden in eastern Manitoba. We are located near Ste. Anne, about 30 minutes from Winnipeg. We use regenerative & permaculture methods and are passionate about growing beautiful, high quality vegetables, medicinal herbs, flowers, and heirloom garlic, while caring for this land and creating a resilient homestead for our family on our small acreage. We also provide hands-on classes & skills-sharing opportunities. 4 week Spring Greens Shares (May-June), and 19 week CSA Veggie Boxes, with local on-farm pick-up (Fridays), or home delivery to Winnipeg (Tuesdays). During the growing season we also have a small farm stand open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays. Shop year-round in our online farm store for produce, preserves, sourdough bread, dried herbs, and more!
Big Hero 8 Farm
Family farm just outside of Steinbach, selling free-range eggs & seasonal produce. We are not certified organic, but we follow clean and sustainable growing practices.
Willow & Plum Orchard
At Willow & Plum Orchard we grow all that Manitoba has to offer: apples, pears, plums, strawberries, raspberries, haskaps, currants, rhubarb, specialty cut flowers, herbs and even veggies. You won’t find our unique and heirloom varieties in the grocery store. Only the freshest and tastiest fruits make it to your plate. Find us as the farmers market and our online store.
Wild Song Acres
Established in 2022, Wild Song Acres is a small mixed family farm run by Nick and Kailey Poborsa Turnbull and their growing rabble of children. Designed around permaculture principles and striving for regenerative practices, we grow a diverse array of vegetables available through our 16 week CSA program to Whitemouth and Winnipeg. We also specialize in forest-raised heritage breed pigs which are rotationally managed throughout our mixed forest of poplar, birch, ash, tamarack and spruce. Our pigs enjoy the freedom to root, roam, and forage in addition to their ‘slop’ of fermented organic grains and garden waste. We also seasonally have free-range chickens, and are enjoying our small herd of mixed dairy goats and jersey cows, because nothing beats homegrown cheese!
Awaken Herbs
At Awaken, we hope to expand our local herb-shed with fresh, vibrant, life-giving farm-grown medicinal plants. We grow with your home apothecary, herbalism, healing practice, and herbal businesses in mind. We want to make growing a relationship with these herbs easy for you, so we offer several connection points.
Fresh Medicinal Herb U-Pick // Join us at the farm to harvest a basket of locally grown medicinal herbs at their peak vitality.
Fresh Medicinal Herb CSA // Dip your toes into the herbal world with a Posy Moon Share, and receive a beautiful herbal posy 6 times throughout the season, introducing you to dozens of medicinal herbs. Or, stock your home apothecary with a Half Moon Share and receive several pounds of fresh medicinals. Herbal product makers and herbalists, our Full Moon Share is for you!
Dried Bulk Herbs // We dry our herbs with great care in our custom drying room, which preserves much of their colour, flavour, and medicine – dried herbs should look and smell as close to fresh as possible!
We work only with our hands, small-farm tools, and the much appreciated help of good friends. We incorporate principles and practices based on Indigenous agriculture (what has been repackaged as permaculture), biodynamics, and (non-certified) organic methods. Learning how to build healthy soil and beneficial habitat underpins much of what we do.
Sliding scale and reparations pricing available.

Strawberry Lane Flowers
Strawberry Lane began as a Strawberry U-Pick in 1988 just outside of Morris, MB. As the years went on, and as strawberries became more risky to grow the farm slowly evolved to growing flowers. The business was started by Helen Eidse who was one of the first 10 vendors to start the St. Norbert Farmers’ Market. As of 2021 I (Kirsten van der Linde) took over the business. I am heading into my 10th year in the garden and love it! We still attend the St. Norbert Farmers’ Market weekly in the summer months as well as offering bouquet subscriptions, sell to florists and design florals for weddings.
Stoney Brook Creamery
Our certified organic dairy farm is situated southeast of Steinbach. We milk red and white holsteins, and raise a few other breeds as well. We bottle our milk at our inspected facility on the farm. The flagship product is cream-line (unhomogenized), low temperature pasteurized (to meet Canadian law) milk, bottled in returnable glass bottles. We do a premium chocolate milk with the same milk, a kefir for your smoothies or granola, fresh curds every Friday, dry curd cottage cheese for your perogies or salads, and small bottles of whipping cream.
Little Red Veggie Stand on #8
Small family operation growing all natural vegetables sustainably and offering: pickles, jams and jellies, home baking with organic Manitoba flour as well as cold process handmade soaps.
