Grunthal Berries began in 2009. The farmers, Colleen and Mark, had been working in the big city and needed a creative outlet. So, they returned to Colleen's hometown and planted 5 acres of strawberries! (They had quite a steep learning curve, having no real experience in large scale gardening!)
The farm specializes in having a long picking season for strawberries (certain strawberry varieties produce in summer and fall!), but the farm also grows some raspberries, watermelon and the occasional fresh vegetables, such as cucumbers, squash and pumpkin. The farm uses its own fruit to produce very delicious strawberry jam...

Sustainability comes from strong relationships - customer, supplier, employee, family.
It comes from contributing to community by providing quality products to our neighbours, employment to youth and volunteering in local organizations.
Sustainability comes from managing precious resources (including time, land, equipment, people and money).
Striving to be good stewards of what we are given. Striving to be good neighbours, wherever we are.
